Stealth is a privacy tool, so we take how we handle your data seriously. This policy is written in plain English.
The short version
Stealth runs locally on your Mac. We do not upload your screen. We do not record your screen. We do not watch what you're doing. The only external communication is an optional license key check.
What Stealth does NOT collect
- Your screen contents
- The names or titles of your windows
- The content of your apps (Slack messages, emails, etc.)
- Your personal information (beyond your email address if you buy a license)
- Browsing history or activity logs
What Stealth reads locally
To place blur overlays on your protected apps, Stealth reads:
- Window positions and sizes — so the blur overlay is correctly sized and positioned
- App names — to match your protected app list against running apps
This information never leaves your Mac.
License key checks
If you purchase Stealth Pro, the app communicates with Stripe (our payment processor) to activate and periodically validate your license key. This involves:
- Your license key
- A stable anonymous device identifier (not your name or Apple ID)
Your license is stored locally in your macOS Keychain. Stealth works offline — validation is best-effort and includes a grace period.
Analytics
The Stealth website uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics that do not track individuals or store personal data.
Third parties
- Stripe — payment processor. Handles purchase, billing, and license keys. See their privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — CDN and DNS for this website. See their privacy policy.
Your email address
If you purchase Stealth Pro, Stripe collects your email to send your receipt and license key. We may use it to send you critical product updates (like a major version release). You can unsubscribe at any time.
Children
Stealth is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and note it in the changelog.
